The Long Black Veil

Good news! We got some yummy rain today! It wasn't even enough to register in the rain gauge, but it was so nice! I even heard thunder. There's a chance we may get more rain tonight. That would be lovely.

I was able to combine three of my favorite things - I love Halloween, Celtic music, and belly dancing. I am working toward a black costume for Halloween, and I made a black veil yesterday. It's plain black, and the trim is a dark iridescent, with mainly blue and blacks. It is a very long one. I was going to make it the regular 3 yards, but there were 7 extra inches on the bolt. I had to trim the jagged edges, so it's only an extra 4 inches, but it looks so purty!!! It swirls very nicely. I'm well on my way to a Halloween outfit. Yeah!

You may be asking, "What does that have to do with Celtic music?" Well, The Chieftans have an album in which the title song is Long Black Veil. It's a strange song, but I really like it, and Mick Jagger does the vocals. So, I've combined several favorites into one. Happy, happy, happy!

That's all for now!

I was amazed at all the other artists I saw on YouTube who have done this song, that I've never heard of! I love Halloween, too. Probably mostly for the candy. :D
